The Maslow, Sandton rolls out the red carpet with a series of Valentine’s weekend events

Why celebrate your love for just one evening when you can turn Valentine’s Day into a romantic Valentine’s Weekend with The Maslow, Sandton’s series of events to give partners the chance to reconnect and rejuvenate?

Choose between attending one event – or booking into the four-star Sun International hotel for a full weekend of pampering and fun.

Cupid sets his mark on couples on Friday, February 14 who are relaxing with a sundowner at the Lacuna Bar overlooking the four-star hotel’s lush green garden before heading to the adjacent Lacuna Bistro to savour the romance with a five-course Valentine’s Culinary Affair complimented with live background entertainment.

The Maslow’s Executive Chef Ofentse Morake has brought his passion for food and flavour to the fore creating a special menu for the annual official day of romance. A velvety cauliflower soup, served with a selection of freshly baked artisan breads, followed by a roasted beet and goat cheese salad, served with baby leaves, citrus and seed and nut brittle, a fresh white fish ceviche or a succulent filet mignon bring the meal to a crescendo before the dark chocolate cake with raspberry coulis and vanilla bean ice cream make the perfect conclusion.  This delicious meal at R1 590 per couple including a welcome drink and live entertainment. Elevate your dining experience with a specially-selected wine pairing with each course as an optional extra.

On Saturday, February 15, let your creativity loose at the Wine, Art, & Heart: A Romantic Creation Experience where you can bring your love to life in paint on a canvas. The R600 per person ticket includes a welcome drink, harvest lunch and paint essentials. The sip and paint event is from 1pm until 4pm.

On Sunday, February 16, dress in white with a touch of red for the vintage theme and head to The Maslow’s lawns for the Love in bloom – Graham Beck Sunday Society Picnic from 1pm until 6pm. At R1 700 per couple, you will be spoilt with a welcome drink, hot food station, complimentary bottle of Graham Beck Cap Classique and live entertainment.

For those who want to really wow their partner, why choose just one experience when you can enjoy them all with a luxurious Valentine’s Weekend Escape at The Maslow, from February 14 to 16.

Start your getaway with a romantic candlelit dinner for two on Friday evening, followed by a night in a luxurious room, designed for comfort and privacy. Wake up to a delicious breakfast for two on Saturday morning before unleashing your creativity at the Wine, Art, & Heart: A Romantic Creation Experience accompanied by sparkling drinks and delightful bites. On Sunday, start your day with a delectable breakfast, then wind down your weekend with Love in bloom – Graham Beck Sunday Society Picnic – an afternoon of bubbly, gourmet delights, live entertainment in picturesque surroundings before your check-out.

This one-of-a-kind romantic package is R7,666 for two – and don’t forget to book a rejuvenating couple’s spa treatment at Africology Spa for the cherry on top of this romantic escape.
