Orlando Pirates Unveil Soweto-Inspired Third Jersey for 2026/27

adidas and Orlando Pirates have unveiled a limited-edition third jersey for the 2026/27 season, featuring a graphic inspired by Soweto’s rooftops and the communities behind the club.

The design combines a dark base with maroon, light purple, dusky orange and high-resolution red accents. It also features an EQT-inspired collar and adidas CLIMACOOL+ technology.

The announced retail rollout began on 25 October through Orlando Pirates’ online and physical stores. Sales through adidas.co.za and selected adidas retail and wholesale partners are scheduled to start on 30 October 2026.

Soweto Rooftops Shape the Jersey’s Graphic

The all-over pattern draws on the distinctive shapes of Soweto, with scattered rooftops representing the homes, families and communities connected to Orlando Pirates.

Founded in 1937, the club places its Orlando roots at the centre of the design. The rooftops are intended to reflect stories of struggle, success and generations growing up with a shared identity.

Together, the graphic elements celebrate belonging, resilience and the connection between the Buccaneers and their home.

Dark Colourway Meets EQT-Inspired Details

Maroon, light purple, dusky orange and red accents sit across the jersey’s dark base.

The adidas Three Stripes and branding are integrated into the design, alongside Orlando Pirates’ skull-and-crossbones crest.

An EQT-inspired collar and custom back-neck sign-off complete the shirt.

CLIMACOOL+ Supports On-Field Performance

According to adidas, the jersey uses lightweight engineered fabric designed for comfort and freedom of movement.

CLIMACOOL+ technology is intended to manage moisture and improve breathability during high-intensity play.

The performance features accompany a design carrying the club’s history into both sporting and fashion settings.

Fashion Week Appearance Precedes On-Field Debut

The launch announcement scheduled the jersey’s first official appearance for 24 October at South Africa Fashion Week, as part of a dedicated fashion showcase.
