In an exciting development for reality TV fans, M-Net has announced that they are once again the ‘Home of Survivor‘. The channel will be airing three highly anticipated international seasons this year. Kicking off with the thrilling Survivor Australia Season 12 on 8 April and the 47th season of Survivor USA on 9 June, it culminates with the star-studded Survivor Australia: Australia vs The World, featuring local champion Rob Bentele on 22 June. Survivor Australia, Season 12, themed “Brains vs Brawn II” sees Australian Jonathan LaPaglia back as host. Set against the stunning backdrop of the island of Samoa, this season will see 24 all-new contestants pitted against each other as they vie for the coveted title and an impressive prize of A$500,000 (approximately R5.7 million). Over the course of 15 gripping episodes, these competitors will be split into teams based on intellect versus strength. Among them are Olympic 400m sprinter Morgan Mitchell, former Ambulance Australia paramedic Paulie Michael, and self-proclaimed WAG, Logan Johannisen, wife of South African-born Australian Rules Footballer Jason Johannisen. The excitement continues with Survivor USA Season 47 making its M-Net debut on 9 June at 7pm. This edition promises a fresh roster of 18 castaways navigating the familiar yet challenging terrain of the Mamanuca Islands in Fiji. Over 26 intense days and 14 riveting episodes, participants will compete for a staggering US$1 million (around R18.2 million). Podcast host Jon Lovett, two-time Survivor winner Tony Vlachos, and former Miss Delaware USA Sierra Wright are notables. The castaways will be divided into three tribes: Gata, Lavo, and Tuku.
Finally, Survivor Australia presents “Australia vs The World” aired on 22 June at 6pm, further asserting its dominance within the Survivor franchise. In this thrilling showdown, the returning Australian players face off against international contenders from Survivor USA, Survivor New Zealand, Survivor South Africa, and Finland’s Robinsonekspedisjonen.
