Lizzo fans, rejoice! The four-time Grammy and Emmy-winning superstar has made her triumphant return to the music scene with her new single, “Still Bad”. Released on 14 March 2025, the track is available on all streaming platforms through Nice Life Recording Company/Atlantic Records.
In “Still Bad”, Lizzo remains unapologetically herself, radiating charisma and self-assurance that fans have come to adore. Driven by a pulsating bassline and energised by punchy ‘80s-inspired keys, the track celebrates independence and strength. With a catchy chorus that proclaims, “I don’t need him. I need a drink,” and an empowering chant echoing through the verses, “After everything, I’m still surviving, and I’m still bad, baby, so bitch, I can’t complain,” Lizzo reinvents her narrative amid an infectious musical backdrop.
This release follows her well-received single “Love In Real Life”, marking her first solo project in three years since the success of her 2022 offerings. The music video for “Love In Real Life” has captivated audiences, garnering more than 7 million views on YouTube and surpassing 2 million streams on Spotify. Critics have celebrated the track, highlighting its sonic resemblance to the legendary Prince and lauding Lizzo’s ability to channel the spirit of funk and rock while delivering heartfelt lyrics about overcoming adversity during a joyful night out.
As anticipation mounts for her fifth full-length album, Love In Real Life, Lizzo aims to connect with fans on a more intimate level by announcing three exclusive shows. Recently, she lit up The Wiltern in Los Angeles and performed at Irving Plaza in New York on 16 March, followed by a concert at First Avenue in Minneapolis on 18 March. These high-energy gatherings promise to solidify her reputation for electrifying stage presence. Earlier this month, Lizzo teased the Love In Real Life era with a viral farewell post to her previous project, leading up to an enticing flute-soundtracked trailer. Media outlets like Rolling Stone have remarked upon her entry into this “new era” of music, while Billboard celebrated the long-awaited arrival of fresh material. The buzz is palpable, with fans yearning for more from the artist who has become a symbol of empowerment and authenticity.
