Kia’s latest electric marvel, the EV3, was crowned the 2025 World Car of the Year, marking a significant achievement for the South Korean automaker.
A distinguished jury of 96 international automotive journalists from 30 countries participated in the rigorous selection process. These experts evaluated a diverse array of vehicles, culminating in a secret ballot that highlighted the best in automotive innovation.
From an impressive list of 52 contenders, the EV3 triumphed among the three finalists, which also included the BMW X3 and the Hyundai Inster/Casper Electric.
This accolade is particularly remarkable for Kia, representing the second consecutive World Car of the Year win for the brand, following last year’s victory with the EV9. It is the third overall win since the award’s inception, bringing Kia’s total to six awards throughout the 21-year history of the World Car organisation. This impressive track record underscores Kia’s commitment to leading the charge in design-led, technologically advanced, sustainable mobility solutions.
Ho Sung Song, President and CEO at Kia, expressed his gratitude and pride in the company’s achievement.
“It is an immense honour for everyone at Kia that the EV3 has been awarded the 2025 World Car of the Year title. This award highlights Kia’s global leadership in providing design-led, technologically advanced, sustainable mobility solutions and how the EV3’s class-leading attributes redefine the user experience for customers worldwide,” he said.
The Kia EV3, designed to meld style with functionality, promises to revolutionise the electric vehicle landscape. With its state-of-the-art technology and user-centric features, the EV3 is set to elevate the driving experience, catering seamlessly to the needs of modern consumers.
