Mark your calendars, as there’s a party on the horizon that promises to bring life, freedom, and the unmistakable spirit of Suzuki to the heart of the Karoo.
Following the astounding success of the inaugural event in 2023, Suzuki Auto South Africa is excited to announce the return of the Suzuki Safari Town Festival to Oudtshoorn on 27 September 2025.
This festival forms part of the much-anticipated Jimny Gathering weekend, which will see enthusiasts gathering for four days of thrilling off-road adventures in the picturesque Outeniqua Mountains. However, the Suzuki Safari Town Festival – taking place at the vibrant Oudtshoorn Recreation Ground – is set to steal the show with an electrifying line-up of live music.
Headlining the festival are some of South Africa’s most beloved musical talents, including the enigmatic Jeremy Loops, the iconic Karen Zoid, the dynamic Spoegwolf, and the rapidly rising Port Elizabeth rap sensation Early B. These acts, along with many others, will create a musical tapestry that mirrors the energy and joy expected at this vibrant celebration.
“The first Suzuki Safari Town Festival exceeded all our expectations – the energy, the turnout, the sense of community. It set the tone for something truly special, “says event organiser Henk van der Schyf, reflecting on last year’s festivities.
“For 2025, we’ve taken everything people loved and turned it up a notch. More music, more adventure and more ways to celebrate the spirit of Suzuki and the beautiful Karoo town of Oudtshoorn. We can’t wait to welcome everybody back.”
Beyond the beats and melodies, the festival promises a feast for the senses with an impressive array of food and refreshment vendors, ensuring that the taste buds of every attendee are satisfied. Craft bars will offer refreshing beverages, while a large kids’ entertainment area ensures fun for the whole family. Adding an extra touch of warmth, the event will see Schalk Bezuidenhout return as the official MC, renowned for his charm and humour.
While the Jimny Gathering will be catered primarily for Suzuki Jimny owners and 4×4 enthusiasts, with adventures specifically tailored to their passion, the Suzuki Safari Town Festival is open to the public. Everyone is invited to come and soak in the vibrant atmosphere, whether you’re behind the wheel of a Jimny or simply want to enjoy great music and camaraderie under the iconic Karoo sun.
“Suzuki is a brand for all South Africans. While we have some exciting activities planned specifically for Jimny owners, we also wanted to make sure that everyone visiting Oudtshoorn for the weekend can join in the fun,” says Brand Marketing Manager at Suzuki Auto SA.
“Our first Suzuki Safari Town Festival in Clarens was filled with good vibes and plenty of lekker people, and we’re expecting this edition to be even better. We’re looking forward to seeing you all at the main stage!”
With ticket prices ranging from R60 to R250, securing a spot at this fantastic festival is easy. Tickets will be available through the event’s official website: www.safaritown.co.za.
