SABC2 is stirring up excitement as it welcomes back one of South Africa’s most beloved cooking competition reality shows, The Taste Master SA. Set to premiere its riveting sixth season on Tuesday, 13 May 2025, at 19:30, the series promises a delectable mix of creativity and flavour, with Clover stepping in as the headline sponsor and Food Lovers Market supplying all the fresh produce showcased throughout the season.

Renowned chef and beloved TV personality Zola Nene is back on the judging panel, armed with her signature warmth, wit, and culinary prowess. She will mentor ten enthusiastic contestants who will face dynamic cooking challenges each week, all vying for the coveted grand prize, which includes R200,000 from Capitec and more.

“I’m so excited to be guiding a new generation of culinary talent,” said Zola. “This season is not just about skills—it’s about storytelling through food. We have incredible contestants, amazing guest judges, and challenges that will push creativity to the edge.”

Joining Zola is an impressive roster of guest judges who will appear in each episode, including her mother Bongekile Nene, celebrated Chef Anwar Abdullatief, culinary innovator Daniel Blignaut, and Nathan Clarke, among others. This diverse panel is sure to bring a wealth of experience and insights to the young chefs competing for the title.

In an exciting twist, this season returns to The Taste Master SA’s roots by equally celebrating cooking and baking. After two consecutive seasons focused solely on desserts and pastries, Season 6 is set to broaden its horizon—embracing the sumptuous world of savoury delights alongside sweet treats.
