Lately, I can’t stop thinking about the word ‘beauty.’ As someone lucky enough to focus on beauty and fashion, I find myself constantly reflecting on what it truly means. But this morning, 31 March 2025, I had a moment… not about trends, products, or even the latest runway shows. It was something deeper: the idea of deep self-care.
So, I want to share three simple and practical ways to nurture yourself, beyond the usual beauty routines.
1. Create a quiet space for your mind
It doesn’t have to be every day. Life is loud, demanding, and relentless, but sometimes you just need to switch off. Reconnecting with yourself is essential. This doesn’t mean booking a fancy retreat (though if you can, go for it!), but it could be as simple as setting aside an hour of uninterrupted time. Just sit and do absolutely nothing! Don’t think about the next meal, your inbox, or your to-do list. We try so hard, we do so much. It’s in these quiet moments that we hear our true desires and emotions, free from the noise of the world. Try it this week.
2. Honour your body with movement
Yes, intentionally! Self-care isn’t just bubble baths and massages (though those are great too). But what if I told you that a 30-minute walk in a cute gym set is just as powerful? Your body carries you through life; it deserves to be honoured. The key is to find movement that feels good to you, not what someone else is doing. Stretch, dance, take deep breaths… The goal isn’t a specific physique; it’s about reconnecting with your body in a loving, intentional way. And when we move, we release tension. So, release…
3. Nourish your soul and reflect
Introspection never leads you astray. It helps us grow. Last week, I took a moment in the shower to reflect on my week: who I am, who I strive to be, and how I’m treating myself. What am I allowing into my body and my space? That reflection made me want to do better. It was a real, unfiltered look at the woman I’m becoming. How does she act? What does she eat? Where does she go? Deep introspection leaves no room for “I don’t know who I am or where I’m going.”
Start today. Feed yourself with what you need: physically, emotionally, and mentally. Don’t wait for a new month to begin.
Here’s to deep self-care.
