Jaguar TCS Racing is set to field a dynamic driver pairing for the upcoming 2024/25 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship rookie test in Berlin, Germany, as they announce the participation of three-time W Series champion Jamie Chadwick and rising Italian star Leonardo Fornaroli. This highly anticipated rookie test will take place on Monday, 14 July, following the thrilling Berlin E-Prix scheduled for 12-13 July.
Chadwick will be stepping back into the Jaguar I-TYPE 7, marking her third opportunity to evaluate the electric vehicle in Season 10. A standout figure in the motorsport community, she has not only made waves in Formula E but has also had a stellar 2025 season racing in sportscars. This year, she celebrated her Le Mans debut in June and has taken the podium in several European Le Mans Series events for IDEC Sport, competing in the LMP2 class. Her previous experiences behind the wheel of the I-TYPE 7 during the women’s test in Madrid and the Rookie Free Practice session in Jeddah have set the stage for what is expected to be another impressive performance in Berlin.
In contrast, Fornaroli will be experiencing Formula E for the first time during this rookie test. Currently, he is making impressive strides in the FIA Formula 2 standings, where he sits fourth after claiming his maiden victory last weekend at Silverstone. With four podium finishes and two pole positions already this season for Invicta Racing, Fornaroli is riding high on momentum following his successful 2024 campaign that earned him the FIA Formula 3 championship title. The transition to Formula E presents a new and thrilling challenge for this talented young driver.
James Barclay, Team Principal of Jaguar TCS Racing, expressed his enthusiasm about the rookie tests, stating, “The rookie tests are extremely important, giving the opportunity to talented drivers to experience the pinnacle of electric motorsport and the latest Formula E GEN3 Evo car. We’re delighted to welcome back Jamie to the team and give her another chance to put the Jaguar I-TYPE 7 through its paces. Jamie has enjoyed plenty of success in sportscars this year and has excelled across multiple motorsport disciplines, so it will be great to see her drive in Formula E again.”
Barclay also praised Fornaroli’s recent accomplishments, adding, “We are also delighted to welcome Leonardo into the team in Berlin.
Expressing her excitement about the upcoming test, Chadwick said, “I’m looking forward to teaming up with Jaguar TCS Racing once again for the rookie test in Berlin. I am hugely grateful for the opportunities I’ve already had to drive the Jaguar I-TYPE 7 this season, and I’m eager to get back out on track with the team again.”
Fornaroli shared his anticipation, remarking, “It is a privilege to mark my first official test in Formula E with Jaguar TCS Racing. It is going to be a new challenge for me, but one I am looking forward to. To work with the current world championship-winning team is a great opportunity for me and it will be really exciting to take to the Tempelhof Airport circuit for the first time.”
