TAG Heuer and Senna Brand celebrate Ayrton Senna with an exclusive limited edition tourbillon timepiece

La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland – The extraordinary life and career of legendary Formula 1 driver Ayrton Senna will be brought to life in the new Netflix series Senna, premiering on 29 November 2024. To commemorate this, Swiss luxury watchmaker TAG Heuer, in collaboration with the Senna Brand, proudly launches the TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Tourbillon x Senna, honouring the 30th anniversary of Senna’s legacy.

A Prowess to Relive on the Screen

Considered one of the best drivers of all time, Ayrton Senna embodies excellence and performance. Thirty years after his passing, he remains an iconic figure in motor racing. The six-episode Netflix series, starring TAG Heuer ambassador Gabriel Leone as Senna, explores his journey from Brazil to becoming one of Formula 1’s greatest drivers. Developed with the support of Senna’s family, the series captures his achievements, struggles, and relationships, concluding with the tragic accident at the San Marino Grand Prix. It also features heritage watches like the TAG Heuer Senna S/EL Link Chronograph S25.706C.

In conjunction with the series, TAG Heuer announces the TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Tourbillon x Senna, celebrating the driver’s enduring legacy.

The Story Between a Watch Manufacturer and a Driver

The collaboration between TAG Heuer and Ayrton Senna began in 1988. Over his career, Senna redefined “drive” by breaking many records and becoming World Champion in 1988, 1989, and 1991. TAG Heuer has since introduced numerous references celebrating Senna’s legacy, including two chronograph tourbillons in 2018 and 2019.

The TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Tourbillon x Senna reflects Senna’s spirit and achievements. The carbon bezel, inscribed with “Senna” and a tachymeter scale up to 400 km/h, symbolises his speed and precision. The nine o’clock subdial features Senna’s branding, and the skeleton dial incorporates a chequered flag motif. The grade-2 titanium case has a three-dimensional architectural profile, and the 44mm caseback reveals an iconic image of Senna with his helmet. Limited to 500 pieces, the watch includes a high-quality blue rubber strap.

This limited edition is expected to captivate collectors and enthusiasts worldwide. The launch event in Brazil honours Ayrton Senna’s legacy, with actor Gabriel Leone wearing the limited edition watch.
