Somerset Mall strikes a harmonious chord with community initiative Entertain SM

Somerset Mall, a cherished cornerstone of the Somerset West locality, proudly shares the ongoing success of its heartwarming community initiative, “Entertain SM”. For the past two years, this initiative has brought joy to shoppers and provided crucial support to struggling artists impacted by the pandemic.

Every day, between 11am and 3pm, the Woolworths Court at Somerset Mall transforms into a haven of musical talent. Shoppers are treated to an exceptional auditory experience spanning various genres, including classical, jazz, pop, and beloved classics. The ambiance created by these talented local musicians has become synonymous with Somerset Mall’s welcoming and vibrant atmosphere.

Somerset Mall’s Marketing Manager, Mel Jeffries explained why they chose to embark on the initiative: “The inception of this initiative was driven by Somerset Mall’s deep desire to assist artists facing challenging times during the pandemic. Recognising the need to support local musicians while simultaneously uplifting the mall’s mood, ‘Entertain SM’ has proven to be both successful and impactful – a true reflection of our ethos.”

Somerset Mall’s live music sessions provide a vital platform for local musicians to showcase their talents and raise funds. These sessions have become a lifeline for artists whose livelihoods were disrupted by the pandemic, offering them much-needed support and recognition.
