Luxury retail continues to evolve in South Africa, with new concepts reshaping how people shop and experience fashion. The arrival of Maison Deux at Hyde Park Corner signals a shift towards immersive, experience-led retail.

Developed by Al Capone Group, Maison Deux brings together global fashion, curated homeware and a café experience under one roof. The opening also marks the debut of South Africa’s first Marc Jacobs Café, adding a fresh drawcard for visitors.

A new luxury retail concept

Hyde Park Corner has long positioned itself as a destination for premium retail. Maison Deux builds on this, offering a space where fashion, interiors and lifestyle intersect.

The store presents a curated mix of international designers, including Etro, Kenzo, Missoni, Givenchy, Marc Jacobs, Isabel Marant, Stella McCartney and Giuseppe Zanotti.

Alongside these, the multi-brand Al Capone selection features labels such as Moncler and Maison Margiela, as well as the group’s in-house Capone label.

Where fashion meets interiors

Maison Deux extends beyond clothing. The space introduces a refined homeware offering, giving shoppers access to brands such as Etro Home, Lisa Corti, Missoni Home and Dolce & Gabbana Casa.

This mix positions the store as a lifestyle destination rather than a traditional retail space. You move between fashion and interiors in one environment, shaping both personal style and living spaces in a single visit.

Inside the Marc Jacobs Café

At the centre of the store, the Marc Jacobs Café introduces a new layer to the shopping experience. Inspired by New York energy, the café blends design-focused interiors with a curated menu.

It shifts the retail experience from quick transactions to longer, more social visits. You shop, pause, meet and spend time in the space.

A shift towards experience-led retail

The concept draws from European department store models, where multiple lifestyle categories exist together. In South Africa, this format remains rare.

Maison Deux reflects a growing demand for spaces that offer more than products. It focuses on experience, curation and time spent in-store.

For Hyde Park Corner, this strengthens its position in the luxury market. For shoppers, it offers a new way to engage with fashion and lifestyle under one roof.
