ROSE’D: Step Into Seasonal Beauty at La Motte

This summer, La Motte Wine Estate’s Ateljee becomes a sanctuary of seasonal beauty as it unveils ROSE’D, a spectacular art exhibition opening on 18 October 2025. Inspired by the flourish of spring and summer, the show explores the many forms of the rose – from buds to blooms to delicate petals – honouring both its grandeur and fragility.

Honouring Heritage and Family Roots

Central to the exhibition is acclaimed artist Heike Taschner Jeske, whose lifelong connection to roses stems from her father, renowned rose farmer Ludwig Taschner. The exhibition pays tribute to this collaboration between La Motte and the Taschner family, highlighting the two cultivars Ludwig named in honour of the Rupert family: the Hanneli Rupert and Berdine roses.

Guests are welcomed by the coral brilliance of Hanneli Rupert roses lining the driveway and showcased as a bold floral statement in La Motte’s reception area – a prelude to the visual feast within.

An Immersive Floral Experience

For this exhibition, Taschner Jeske’s signature installation presents a larger-than-life rose, blooming across walls and ceiling as if seen through the eyes of a tiny creature. The installation invites wonder, intimacy, and reflection on the rose’s delicate construction.

The show spans multiple mediums – monoprints, charcoal drawings, watercolours, and ceramic sculptures – each capturing the rose’s beauty through different artistic lenses.

Flourish: A Broader Creative Conversation

Extending the exhibition’s reach, La Motte hosted an Open Call to artists, inviting submissions under the theme Flourish. From this, the top ten artworks will be displayed as feature pieces, while a wider curated selection will also be on view and available for purchase.

Workshops and Community Engagement

To deepen the seasonal celebration, La Motte will also host a series of floral-inspired workshops alongside the exhibition, inviting guests to engage more personally with the themes of creativity, seasonality, and renewal.
