Kolbe returns as Sacha starts for Springboks in Cape Town Test against All Blacks

The Springboks have made two key changes to their matchday squad for Saturday’s second Castle Double Malt Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry Series Test against the All Blacks in Cape Town.

Cheslin Kolbe returns to the starting XV after recovering from the knock that forced him off in last week’s opening Test in Johannesburg, while Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu has been promoted to starting flyhalf following Handre Pollard’s withdrawal through injury.

The Test kicks off at 17:10 at DHL Stadium and will be broadcast live on SuperSport.

Kolbe back on the wing

Kolbe replaces Kurt-Lee Arendse in the only change to the backline from last week’s victory over New Zealand.

The experienced winger was cleared to play after recovering fully from the injury he sustained in Johannesburg, giving the Springboks one of their biggest attacking weapons for the Cape Town showdown.

Pollard ruled out after training niggle

The biggest late change comes at flyhalf, where Pollard has been withdrawn after picking up a niggle during training on Wednesday.

After being assessed on Friday morning, the Springbok medical team decided not to risk the veteran playmaker.

Feinberg-Mngomezulu, who started the recent Tests against Argentina and the All Blacks, steps into the No. 10 jersey, while Manie Libbok returns to the matchday 23 as the replacement flyhalf.
