Introducing Africa’s newest Big Five from Afrika Botanicals

Afrika Botanicals, the local and international supplier of ethically sourced, 100% cold pressed natural African botanical oils, has launched their Big Five African Oils Box Set, comprising their best-selling carrier oils.

The Big Five box set contains Mongongo, Baobab, Kalahari Melon, Ximenia and Marula Oil in easy-to-use 30ml glass bottles, that can be used on their own or added to your current skin and hair care products to provide that little something extra! Each oil is wild harvested by rural women from communities throughout Southern Africa, ensuring fair trade policies and is then produced in an organic environment.

Mongongo, also known as Manketti Seed Oil offers intense hydration for dry skin, repairing and strengthening the skin’s natural moisture barrier and preventing moisture loss. It also provides deep conditioning and nourishment to hair, combating dryness and brittleness, while at the same time taming frizzy, stray hairs, promoting smoother more manageable hair. Add a few drops of Mongongo Seed Oil to your leave-in conditioner for extra shine and smoothness.

Baobab Seed Oil has become a household standard for many due to its multiple uses for skin care, particularly for calming and soothing irritated skin helping to fade scars, stretch marks and blemishes to promote a smoother complexion. It can also be used to enhance hair growth and thickness and protect your hair from harmful environmental damage, such as UV rays and pollution. Mix Baobab Seed Oil with Rosemary essential oil for a stimulating scalp treatment to help promote hair growth.

Kalahari Melon Seed Oil provides a lightweight yet adequate hydration for your skin, leaving it feeling soft and supple without feeling greasy. It contains powerful antioxidants that protect your skin from environmental stressors and premature ageing. This oil is great at detangling knotted hair and works effectively to protect your hair from heat styling tools. Add Kalahari Melon Seed Oil to your shampoo and conditioner to enhance their moisturising effects for dry or damaged hair.

Ximenia Seed Oil offers intense moisturisation, relieving dry, flaky and itchy skin, improving your skin’s elasticity and firmness while reducing the signs of ageing. It is also suitable for all hair types, including colour-treated and chemically processed hair, adding shine and lustre to it, enhancing its natural beauty. Mix Ximenia Seed Oil into your hair mask for deep hydration and nourishment.

Marula Seed Oil provides potent antioxidant protection for your skin, combatting free radicals and environmental damage, while at the same time evening out skin tone, promoting a more radiant and even complexion. It is a luxurious hair treatment that deeply moisturises and conditions each hair follicle, leaving you with smoother, shinier, more manageable hair. Mix Marula Oil Seed with Lavender Essential oil for a relaxing and soothing hair treatment.
