SPECTACLE WORLD: Pairing frames with personality

A visit to any optometrist is always the same: get your eyes examined, choose a frame and then leave. Not at Spectacle World in N1 City, Cape Town. They dive deep into your personality to find out who YOU are and to find a suitable frame to match, writes Media Xpose HR Manager Divan Lategan.

You’ll know right away that this isn’t your average optometrist, as they really go the extra mile to find out who you are in order to meet your needs and complement your distinct personality. I recently went for a test at Spectacle World and was blown away by the staff. 

You feel like a king as you walk in. There is an assistant for every part of what needs to be done to get you out of there swiftly and speedily. From the reception to the eye exam room to the styling room, I was met with the warmest reception. Within minutes of being inside, owner and eyewear stylist Adele Camarena greets me with the biggest smile. Judging from the amazing futuristic and colourful frame SHE was wearing; I instantly knew I was at the right place. 

I am then whisked into a room where Adele examined my eyes and introduced me to the different types of material used for their frames. 

I was offered a styling coat, using the Colour Me Beautiful system, to cover my body while we went through the variety of frames most suitable for me. Adele reiterated the importance of choosing the correct frame as it is a depiction of who you are and what you represent. Just as the eyes are part of your body, your glasses should blend in as well and enhance what is already fabulous.  

I must commend Spectacle World and Adele for their outstanding customer service as I have never experienced this before. The comfort and friendliness of the staff makes you feel right at home. Adele went even further to enquire about my interest in contact lenses, which I have tried before but it irritates my eyes, hence, I do not wear it. She recommended Biofinity Energy Contact Lenses which are ABSOLUTE must haves! To accompany the lenses, she also added eye drops to assist with the irritation, which feels weightless. I received a set of 30-day lenses as well as disposable daily ones. To top it off, they threw in FREE Jeep sunglasses with my already amazing package.

A week later, my package arrived. I will definitely return for any eye related issue. You will too. IB
