Hollywoodbets Durban July Fashion Preview Brings Country Allure to Life

933

The countdown to the Hollywoodbets Durban July gathered pace on Friday evening as the official Preview Fashion Show transformed Westown Square into a celebration of South African fashion, creativity and style.

Held against the artisan precinct at Westown Square, the open-air showcase gave the public its first look at how leading designers have interpreted this year’s Hollywoodbets Durban July theme, Country Allure.

First look at Country Allure

The preview brought together all three official Hollywoodbets Durban July fashion platforms on one runway for the first time.

These included:

  • Young Designer Award presented by Metro FM
  • Durban Fashion Fair Rising Stars
  • Six Invited Designers

“It is the first time the public gets to see the three tiers of fashion at the Hollywoodbets Durban July all on one stage,” said Race Coast Head of Marketing, Major Events and Broadcast, Steve Marshall.

“The show brings the ‘Country Allure’ theme to life and inspires racegoers with the many creative ways it can be interpreted. We hope everyone arrives at Greyville on Saturday, 4 July with their own unique expression of the theme.”

Designers celebrate South African creativity

Designers showcased collections inspired by modern country elegance, South Africa’s natural landscapes and cultural heritage.

Earthy colour palettes, handcrafted embellishments, detailed beadwork and bold silhouettes reflected this year’s Country Allure theme, blending rural inspiration with contemporary fashion.

Supporting emerging talent

The evening also highlighted the importance of developing South Africa’s next generation of fashion designers.

Durban Fashion Fair Co-ordinator Derrick Mhlongo described the preview as a celebration of creativity that inspires aspiring designers while recognising the collaborative work of designers, models, stylists, make-up artists and production teams behind the event.

The Hollywood Foundation also reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the local fashion industry.

Marketing Manager Vuyisile Ngobese said the Foundation is helping nine Durban Fashion Fair Rising Stars establish sustainable businesses through equipment worth R300,000.

Durban July race day approaches

With race day approaching, excitement continues to build for the Hollywoodbets Durban July on Saturday, 4 July, at Greyville Racecourse.

The event combines world-class horse racing, fashion and entertainment, making it one of South Africa’s biggest sporting and lifestyle occasions.

General admission tickets are available through Ticketpro.
