Comic Con Cape Town 2027 moves to bigger venue

Comic Con Cape Town 2027 is officially expanding in 2027, with organisers confirming a move to a larger venue at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC).

The popular pop culture festival will take place from 24 to 27 April 2027 and will now occupy CTICC 1 as the event continues to grow in size and popularity.

Comic Con Cape Town moves to CTICC 1

Organisers say the venue shift comes directly in response to fan feedback from previous editions, particularly around navigation and multi-level hall layouts.

By moving the entire event onto one floor inside CTICC 1, Comic Con Cape Town aims to improve:

• Accessibility
• Visitor flow
• Crowd movement
• Overall fan experience

The larger venue also creates space for additional exhibitors, activations, gaming experiences and cosplay attractions.

Organisers say expansion supports long-term growth

According to Show Director Carla Massmann, the venue move represents a major step forward for the event.

“This move represents an important step in the continued evolution of Comic Con Cape Town,” Massmann said.

“CTICC 1 allows us to build a more seamless and accessible experience while expanding what we can offer to fans, exhibitors, and partners.”

She added that the decision directly responds to community feedback while supporting the long-term growth of the festival.
