From international modelling to a quieter life

Storm reflected on her early success as an international model.

She recalled being discovered at a young age while visiting her father in the Netherlands, which led to a fast-moving career that included a French Vogue cover at just 18.

Now based in St Francis Bay, she lives a quieter lifestyle. She owns a guesthouse along the canals, describing her current pace of life as more relaxed and removed from the spotlight.

Her relationship with James Small

Storm spoke openly about her relationship with Small, which began in the mid-1990s and drew significant public attention.

She described him as misunderstood, highlighting his emotional side and commitment as a father.

Addressing past reports of conflict, she acknowledged that their relationship was difficult at times, with both parties contributing to those challenges.

Despite this, she said they managed to co-parent successfully and maintained that he was a devoted parent.

Addressing reports around his death

Storm also responded to media coverage following Small’s death in 2019.

She rejected widely circulated claims about the circumstances, stating that he suffered a heart attack while waiting for his partner.

She raised concern about how inaccurate reporting affected their child, pointing to the long-term impact of misleading headlines.

Speaking about mental health

The interview turned to Storm’s personal struggles following Small’s passing.

She shared that the experience had a significant emotional impact, leading to panic attacks and a need for professional support.

Storm said she spent time in rehabilitation for depression and anxiety and has been working with a psychologist for several years.

She described the process as ongoing, with a focus on managing her mental health day by day.

A moment of vulnerability

During the interview, Storm also shared a personal incident from her past, recalling a night spent in jail after an accident involving a police vehicle.

The conversation became emotional as she spoke about her current stage in life, describing it as uncertain but focused on moving forward.

“This is not the end of me,” she said, reflecting a sense of resilience despite ongoing challenges.
