Tyla announces support acts for her much-anticipated South Africa tour

Tyla, the Grammy®-winning South African star and the voice behind the viral hit Water, is about to take South Africa by storm with her highly anticipated two-city tour. Presented by Showtime Management, she’ll perform at the Grand Arena at GrandWest in Cape Town on 5 December and the SunBet Arena in Menlyn on 7 December. Both shows, kicking off at 7:30pm, are already sold out – showing just how much love Tyla has gotten since her rise to global fame!

Accompanying Tyla, a dynamic line-up of talented support acts and guest artists has been revealed. Fans attending the Cape Town show will witness the energetic performances of ‘private school Amapiano’ DJ Kelvin Momo and singer-songwriter Daliwonga, who will join as a guest artist. Additionally, the stage will come alive with the presence of Amapiano artist Optimist and electro-amapiano musician Ez Maestro, promising an evening filled with rhythmic diversity.

The Pretoria show promises the same calibre of talent with the return of Momo, once again sharing the stage with the smooth R&B star Filah Lah Lah. Daliwonga, Optimist and Ez Maestro will also add their flair as guest artists, ensuring an unforgettable experience for Tyla’s devoted fans, affectionately known as the ‘Tygas’.

This impressive roster guarantees a night filled with chart-topping tracks from genre-defining artists. Kelvin Momo, born in Soweto, integrates deep house, jazz and lounge elements into his Amapiano core, with his hit ‘Amalobolo’ attracting nearly 13 million streams on Spotify. Daliwonga, also hailing from Soweto, has become a household name after his track ‘Abo Mvelo’ and has recently embarked on an exciting partnership with Diesel as their South African ambassador.

Optimist, a Mamelodi native, began as a rapper influenced by the likes of Kendrick Lamar but soon discovered his vocal talents in high school. His versatile style sees him singing in English, Tsonga and Sotho, leading to collaborations like the Gold-certified ‘French Kiss’. Ez Maestro, adding a touch to the Amapiano genre, notably contributed to Tyla’s ‘Shake Ah’, and fans will certainly look forward to his live performance that promises to recreate the energy of the studio version.

Also on the lineup is Filah Lah Lah, bringing her soulful sound with her debut album On Air, released this April. From aspiring law student to respected artist, her journey reflects her passion for music and strong lyrical talent.

Tyla’s rise to fame has been nothing short of spectacular. Following her Grammy win for Best African Music Performance earlier this year, she shattered records with ‘Water’, which peaked at #7 on the US Hot 100 – a milestone for any South African artist. Her achievements include dominating multiple Billboard charts, receiving eight nominations at the upcoming Billboard Music Awards, and conquering major accolades such as the BET Awards for Best New Artist.

With sold-out shows and a lineup this iconic, Tyla’s tour promises to be a once-in-a-lifetime celebration of music, talent and South African pride. Fans are in for a night they’ll be talking about for years!
