Sjava announces live concert tour to celebrate his 2018 classics

In a thrilling announcement, South African music sensation Sjava has revealed the dates and venues for his highly anticipated Sjava The 2018 Tour, coinciding with the release of his Inkanyezi Live EP and DVD, now available on YouTube. This tour promises to be an unforgettable tribute to Sjava’s remarkable 2018, the year he released both the acclaimed Umqhele album and the Umphako EP, which have become modern-day classics in the South African music scene..

This year marks an exciting phase for Sjava as he revisits fan-favourite venues across South Africa, including the prestigious Joburg Theatre, the Playhouse Theatre in Durban, and the State Theatre in Pretoria. Due to tremendous demand, the tour will extend its footprint beyond previous tours, which included the Isibuko Tour and 2016 Tour. New cities featured on this exhilarating tour include Cape Town, Bloemfontein, and eMalahleni.

The year 2018 was pivotal for Sjava, marked by musical success and international acclaim. He took home a coveted BET Award and was featured on the Kendrick Lamar-produced Black Panther soundtrack, propelling his career to new heights. Sjava The 2018 Tour celebrates these extraordinary milestones and his artistic journey, showcasing celebrated hits like ‘Ikhandlela’, ‘Linda’, ‘Izitha’, and the anthemic ‘Abangani’. Each performance will encapsulate the energy, passion, and cultural richness that defines Sjava’s artistry.

“The way I am able to connect with my supporters and fans during live performances is so profound and has been an anchor for me in my career,” Sjava expressed in a recent statement. “Even during the toughest of times, when I am on stage and the flow and exchange of light and energy is happening between me and the crowd, everything inside and all around catches a fire; a bright burning fire. That’s what keeps me going. That is what I do it for.” This heartfelt connection will undoubtedly be a key component of the tour, promising fans an experience that goes beyond mere entertainment.

The tour kicks off in Cape Town at Green Point Salesians AFC on 30 March, promising to set the stage for a remarkable concert series. Following Cape Town, Sjava will grace the stage at Durban’s Playhouse Theatre for two special nights on 11 and 12 April, before heading to Pretoria on 23 and 24 May. Bloemfontein will experience the magic on 6 June at the renowned Sand du Plessis Theatre, while music lovers in Johannesburg will be treated to two stirring performances at the Joburg Theatre on 15 and 16 August. The grand finale will take place in eMalahleni at the playTsogo Dome on 20 September.
