Prime Circle to showcase new album at launch event in Johannesburg

South African rock legends Prime Circle are set to shake the foundations of The Venue, Melrose Arch, on 1 March 2025, as they launch their highly anticipated eighth studio album, The World We Know. This event is not just a celebration of the new album, but also a showcase of their powerful new single, “Standing Over Me,” which was released to radio today in South Africa and Germany.

“Standing Over Me” addresses the harrowing topic of abuse, serving as a powerful anthem of resilience and empowerment. Gavin Edwards, the band’s new vocalist, states, “This song is about reclaiming your power. After a seven-year hiatus from releasing new material, The World We Know heralds a bold new chapter for Prime Circle, melding their signature rock sound with fresh energy and introspective lyricism. The album, which debuted on streaming platforms in November 2024, features ten tracks, including the impactful singles “Better Days” and “What We Got.” These tracks have received significant airtime, currently being played on 27 radio stations across South Africa and earning upwards of 41 million impacts, according to Radiomonitor SA.
