The wait is finally over for South African singer-songwriter Amy Jones and her husband/manager Lee Willcock, as they welcomed their baby boy, Asher Barry Willcock, into the world on Thursday, 5 December 2024. The couple shared their delightful news with fans with an emotional video posted on their Instagram, accompanied by a heartfelt caption that read, “Welcome home Asher Barry Willcock. We’ve been waiting for you and we know you’re going to make this world a better place!”

The Instagram video, set to the soothing sounds of ‘Counting My Blessings’ by Seph Schlueter, beautifully captures the intimate moment of family connection. It showcases the hands of the couple and their older children gently moving apart to reveal Asher’s tiny hand – a symbolic gesture of growth as their family expands. The sweet clip is titled “POV: You become a family of 5” and highlights the joyful anticipation felt by Jones and Willcock in the lead-up to their son’s arrival.

Amy told Inbound SA, “We are in awe of this new addition to our family, it’s been such a busy few days of adjusting to having a baby in the house but we are loving every minute.”

For Amy, this marks the beginning of a new chapter, as baby Asher is the couple’s first child together. Lee, however, is already a proud father to his daughter Cyhann and son Joel from a previous relationship, thus embracing the role of a father of three.

Reflecting on her pregnancy journey, Amy expressed her overwhelming feelings of gratitude and honour in holding her newborn son in her arms. “I’m feeling really blessed and so honoured to have a baby boy in my arms. The nine-month pregnancy was honestly so blessed and so easy,” she said. Despite facing medical challenges that necessitated a non-natural delivery, Amy’s heart is full of joy for the safe arrival of her baby boy, who weighed 3.2kg and is described as “super tall and perfectly healthy.”

Proudly celebrating their family’s milestone, the joyous couple looks forward to making delightful memories with their newest family member. The excitement is palpable as they begin this new journey with baby Asher rounding out their family with love and affection.
