22-year-old South African-born Tyla just snagged a GRAMMY AWARD with her electrifying hit “Water” at the 66th Grammys. The popular 22-year-old who was born on the 30th of January 2002, flew the South African flag high with her Grammy win. In her category– Best African Music Performance she was up against Music African giants like Burna Boy, Davido, Ayra Starr, Asake, and her fellow South African, Musa Keys.

She graced the stage in a custom-made pastel green Versace dress fashioning an iconic red-carpet moment. This powerhouse young artist has taken the music world by storm, proving once again that talent knows no bounds. From the depths of her soul to the top of the charts, she’s made waves with her Water song. The popular song, had a magical challenge on Tiktok that had so many people and world stars participate in.

People ask, who created the water challenge? Tyla’s choreographer Lee-Che Janecke was the one who created the original routine that we believe blew the song. The choreography just added the pudding to the song, pushing it to have a viral TikTok Challenge. Who started the Tyla water challenge? It was Tyla’s choreographer, Lee-ché Janecke, who created the original routine that is currently blowing up. In the routine, Tyla moves her hips in ways we can only dream of while pouring water down her back, hence the name of the challenge.

As part of her Grammy speech, Tyla said; this is crazy. I never thought I’d say I won a Grammy at 22 years old. “If you don’t know me, my name is Tyla. I’m from South Africa. Last year God decided to change my whole life. So, thank you so much to God, and thank you to my team and my family. I know my mother is crying somewhere in here. Thank you to the recording academy for this category. It’s so important. I know I’m forgetting some things but I won a Grammy.” She added during her victorious moment.

Well, let’s raise a glass, or maybe a bottle of water to Tyla’s well-deserved victory!
