NEDERBURG’S HITTING THE ROAD, POPPIN’ UP ACROSS THE COUNTRY

145

Nederburg is setting off on an exciting roadshow, taking its popular Dinner of Discovery Series to a diverse variety of South African cities and towns after a hugely successful run in Tshwane in May.

Marguerite Beukes, Nederburg’s brand manager, explains: “This is the second year in a row we’d presented our Dinner of Discovery Series at top restaurants in the Tshwane metropole, with sold-out dinners across the board. We’re now going national, showcasing our delicious wines – widely available and lesser-known gems – as well as our fabulous team, as we make our way to some of our favourite places in the country!

“The series involves two distinct activations, both offering a tantalising exploration of taste. Our classic ‘wine-and-dines’ give wine lovers the chance to savour a variety of our offerings, from full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon all the way to lighter styled wines like our Grenache Carignan Rosé, paired with the most inventive dishes from the kitchens of our partner restaurants.”

“Then there’s our very innovative sensory experience, exclusively presented at The Manor restaurant at our home in Paarl, recently voted South Africa’s best restaurant by the public during Restaurant Week South Africa XXL, and selected other venues as part of the roadshow.

“With these immersive dinners, patrons taste wines blindfolded before what’s in their glasses is revealed. They also get to try some of the dishes in the dark, before seeing what’s on their plates. To add to the intrigue, some of the courses are served within a constantly changing soundscape.

“We want diners to unleash their imaginations – to focus on the aromas, textures and tastes before them and to explore the impact of light (or not) and sound on their experience.”

The entire Nederburg team will be represented during the run of events, from June until November.

Meet and learn from Jamie Williams, in her new role as white winemaker, when the nationwide series launches at the brand’s home in Paarl, The Manor, on 26 and 27 June.

From there, the roadshow will move upcountry with more specific details to be released as it becomes available. Keep your eye on Nederburg’s Dinner of Discovery Series blog, its social media pages, or visit https://signup.nederburg.com/ to join the brand’s monthly mailing list.
