As the festive season approaches, cricket fans across South Africa can look forward to an exhilarating holiday extravaganza with the announcement of the Season 4 fixtures for the Betway SA20 league.

Defending champions MI Cape Town will kick off their title defence in a highly anticipated clash against Durban’s Super Giants on Boxing Day at the iconic Newlands Stadium.

Action-Packed Holiday Schedule

The opening match on Friday, 26 December, is just the start of a packed holiday schedule designed to keep fans on the edge of their seats.

On Saturday, 27 December, excitement ramps up with a double-header featuring the rivalry-fuelled Jukskei Derby between Pretoria Capitals and Joburg Super Kings at Centurion, alongside a clash between Paarl Royals and Sunrisers Eastern Cape at Boland Park in Paarl.

For spectators along the coast, Kingsmead will host MI Cape Town against the Super Giants on 28 December, followed by Joburg Super Kings taking on the Super Giants on 30 December.

The action continues with Sunrisers Eastern Cape facing Paarl Royals at St George’s Park on 31 December, followed by MI Cape Town versus Pretoria Capitals at Newlands that evening.

“Part of the Holiday Festivities”

“Season 4 of Betway SA20 will be unique,” said League Commissioner Graeme Smith. “We’ve carefully planned the fixtures to make the most of the festive season and school holidays. We want SA20 to be part of the holiday festivities in our once-off window for this year.”

New Year Cricket to Remember

On New Year’s Day, the Joburg Super Kings and Durban’s Super Giants will kick off 2026 with a spirited match at the Wanderers, adding to the festive atmosphere.

The celebrations continue on 2 January with a Cape Derby, as Paarl Royals take on MI Cape Town at Boland Park, with both teams aiming to maintain their strong home records.

The Betway SA20 carnival then shifts to the Highveld on 3 January for a ‘Super Saturday’ double-header at the Wanderers, where Joburg Super Kings will face Sunrisers Eastern Cape, followed by Pretoria Capitals versus Durban’s Super Giants at Centurion.

Franchises Ready, Fans Excited

“The franchises are hard at work behind the scenes strategising around their squads, which will be confirmed at the auction on 9 September,” added Graeme Smith.

Fans eager to secure their seats can take advantage of the pre-sale window from 17 September to 9 October to get the best seats at the best prices.
