Amazon South Africa recently hosted its second annual Seller Summit, bringing together more than 300 entrepreneurs, industry leaders and top-performing sellers for a day focused on growth, innovation and opportunity.

The event showcased new tools and capabilities designed to help local businesses scale on Amazon.co.za, while also recognising standout performance through the inaugural Amazon South Africa Seller Awards.

Strengthening South Africa’s Seller Ecosystem

According to Robert Koen, Managing Director for Sub-Saharan Africa, the Summit highlighted the strength of the country’s entrepreneurial landscape.

He noted that independent sellers remain central to Amazon’s ability to offer variety, competitive pricing and convenience to customers. The company continues to invest in tools, knowledge and support to help sellers compete both locally and globally.

Practical Tools for Scaling Online

The Summit programme focused on actionable insights. Sellers attended masterclasses covering product listing, advertising, AI integration, brand building, shipping and fulfilment.

These sessions were designed to simplify the seller journey and improve operational efficiency.

Networking formed a key part of the event. Sellers connected directly with Amazon experts, gaining guidance on how to use platform tools to reach more customers and grow their businesses.

Keynote Focus: Adapting in a Digital World

A keynote address by Mushambi Mutuma explored how businesses can adapt in a fast-changing digital environment.

His talk, centred on “The Adaptability Code”, outlined how innovation, technology and strategic thinking support long-term growth.

Celebrating Seller Success

The Summit concluded with the first Amazon South Africa Seller Awards, recognising businesses that have achieved strong growth, innovation and customer satisfaction.

Suzelle Abe, Head of Marketplace, said the awards highlight the resilience and ambition of local entrepreneurs.
