International rock icon Jack White is heading to South Africa for the first time, with two highly anticipated performances scheduled for Johannesburg and Cape Town this December, presented by BreakOut Events.
Following the announcement of White’s historic debut, excitement has been building rapidly among music lovers, generating widespread media attention and eager anticipation across the country. Tickets for the 12-time Grammy Award-winning musician’s exclusive shows are officially on sale via Webtickets and BreakOut Events.
Show dates and iconic venues
White will kick off his two-city tour in Gauteng before heading down to the coastal mother city:
- Johannesburg: Performing at The Old Park Station on 11 December.
- Cape Town: Performing at the scenic Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens on 14 December.
Born and raised in Detroit as the youngest of 10 siblings, White’s utilitarian approach to creativity filters through every aspect of his work. This hands-on ethos spans self-producing his music and founding the Third Man empire to upholstery, design, and various visual art pursuits.

A quarter-century of rock legacy
More than 25 years into his professional music career, White continues to produce relevant, compelling work. When The White Stripes emerged in 1997, few predicted the red, white, and black two-piece would become a global phenomenon.
The release of Elephant in 2003 cemented the duo’s reputation, spawning the iconic hit “Seven Nation Army”—now one of the most recognizable chants in sports stadiums worldwide. In November 2025, The White Stripes were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
White’s career highlights include:
- Grammy Success: 12 GRAMMY Awards across eight categories, with 36 career nominations, alongside the Producers & Engineers Wing President’s Merit Award in 2017.
- Supergroups: Forming The Raconteurs with “a new band of old friends” (delivering the hit “Steady, As She Goes”) and launching supergroup The Dead Weather in 2009 alongside members of The Kills, Queens of the Stone Age, and The Greenhornes.
- Solo Discography: A acclaimed solo catalog featuring Blunderbuss, Lazaretto, Boarding House Reach, Fear of the Dawn, Entering Heaven Alive, No Name, and his seventh studio album, Frozen Charlotte, released on 10 July.
For South African audiences, these two December dates offer a rare opportunity to experience White’s celebrated musicianship and electrifying live energy up close.
